Junior Chamber International Illawarra
What is JCI?
JCI is a worldwide community of young active citizens ages 18-40 who share the belief that in
order to create positive change, we must take collective action to improve ourselves and the
world around us. Engaging in activities ranging from community development to international
projects, members demonstrate their social responsibility and improve themselves through
participation, leadership and action.
- Mission: To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
- Vision: To be the leading global network of young active citizens.
Is this for me?
JCI is an idea. An idea that is moulded by the thoughts and actions of it’s members. Whether
you are interested in meeting new people, actioning ideas with like minds, or just being up to
date with the direction of young professionals in the region then this is for you. At JCI we
understand that you want and have time for different things so you can easily choose and
change your level of involvement.
Once involved with JCI you will have access to social events, networking events training courses,
competitions, national and international conferences, community engagement events and news
and tips on how to thrive, and not just survive as a young professional in the Illawarra.
How does it connect leadership to the region?
JCI members constantly seek ways to live JCI’s slogan: Be Better. They not only believe that
improvement is possible, they believe it is their responsibility to initiate positive change both in
themselves and in their local community. All members around the world share this sense of
social responsibility and the initiative to take action to create a better future for all.
